Meet Stella Chin Akoma
Stella Yetunde Akoma, professionally known as Stella Chin Akoma, is a Nigerian Afrofusion and Gospel recording artist, songwriter, author, scriptwriter, speaker, and Evangelist. Affectionately known as "The Sojourner," she is a voice of faith, hope, and restoration, dedicated to proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ through music, literature, and creative storytelling.
A native of Lokoja, Kogi State, Nigeria, Stella studied Theatre Arts at the University of Port Harcourt, where her passion for storytelling and the performing arts was further refined. Today, she combines her gifts in music, writing, film, and ministry to create works that inspire, encourage, and transform lives across generations and cultures.
As an accomplished creative, Stella is the author of books, a scriptwriter, and a passionate advocate for excellence in African music and media. Her songs and writings reflect themes of faith, worship, perseverance, healing, purpose, and the unfailing love of God.
Stella serves as the President and Executive Director of P-Matrix Global Entertainment, continuing the vision established by its founder, her late husband, Wleypatriot Chibe Akoma. Under her leadership, the company is expanding its mission of nurturing creative talent, producing impactful music and media, and advancing the Kingdom of God through excellence in entertainment and the arts.
More than an artist, Stella is an Evangelist with a heart for souls. Whether ministering through worship, sharing devotional messages, writing books, or speaking to audiences, her calling is to lead people into a deeper relationship with Christ and inspire them to discover the purpose God has placed within them.

Q: How would you describe yourself?
Stella: I see myself first as a follower of Jesus Christ. Music is one of the ways God has given me to share His love with the world. I'm a gospel music minister, evangelist, author, and storyteller, but above all, I'm simply someone who wants people to know Christ.
Q: What inspires your music?
Stella: Every song begins with a story—sometimes from my own journey, sometimes from Scripture, and sometimes from the lives of people around me. My desire is that every lyric carries hope, faith, and a reminder that God's grace is enough, no matter what season you're in.
Q: Why do you blend contemporary African sounds with gospel music?
Stella: Music is a language that connects people across cultures and generations. I love celebrating the richness of African rhythms while keeping the message centered on Jesus Christ. My goal is to create music that feels familiar, joyful, and deeply rooted in the gospel.
Q: What role does faith play in your creative process?
Stella: Faith is the foundation of everything I create. Before I write a song or begin a new project, I seek God's direction. I want every lyric, every melody, and every message to reflect His truth and bring glory to His name.
Q: Your songs often speak of hope. Why is that so important to you?
Stella: Hope has carried me through some of life's most difficult moments. I've learned that even in seasons of pain, God remains faithful. If my music can remind someone not to give up and to trust Him one more day, then every song has fulfilled its purpose.
Q: What do you hope listeners take away from your music?
Stella: I hope they encounter more than a melody. I pray they find peace, renewed faith, and the courage to keep trusting God. If one song leads someone closer to Jesus, then I've fulfilled my purpose.
Q: What other ways do you share your ministry beyond music?
Stella: Music is only one part of my calling. Through writing, storytelling, speaking, and other creative projects, I seek to encourage people with God's Word and remind them that His love reaches every generation and every walk of life.
